The Don CeSar family is deeply saddened by the recent loss of Mrs. June Hurley-Young. She was an important member of our community and a crusader, who touched countless causes and countless lives in the Tampa Bay area.
Alongside her success as a writer and TV personality star on the "Romper Room", June was also the true catalyst in the fight to save the Don CeSar. In 1971, while the permits and plans to demolish the "Pink Lady" were already in motion, June was able to get the attention of the city government and assembled the "Save the Don" committee. It was through her relentless commitment and passion for maintaining the character and culture of our community that allows the Pink Palace to shine bright after 91 years.
June Hurley-Young will never be forgotten, and we are committed to maintaining her legacy by ensuring the Don CeSar welcomes our community for years to come
