Brilliant violinist Julian Rachlin is both conductor and performer. He is joined by partner Sarah McElravy for Mozarts Sinfonia Concertante, a poetic conversation between violin and viola. Rachlin conducts one of the most popular symphonies of all time, Dvoraks great Symphony No. 9. Written and premiered in the New World, the work was influenced by Afro-American spirituals and folk music, for a distinctly American sound. Berliozs dashing Roman Carnival Overture rounds out the program.
